Opportunity for a Dietitian to Join Our Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced dietitian to join our community team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS. The successful candidate will work predominately at Southport Hospital, with some days required at Ormskirk Hospital.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dietitian to provide a dietetic service to in-patients in Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals. The post-holder will manage their own caseload of adult patients, allocated to specific wards including medical and surgical wards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver a dietetic service to in-patients, covering clinical workload and supporting other dietitians during annual leave.
• Provide education and training to other health professionals, including nurses, doctors, and junior staff, on adult nutritional issues.
• Participate in the supervision of student dietitians on clinical placement and for work experience students.
• Contribute to the development of nutrition policies and guidelines.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. A strong understanding of adult nutrition and dietetics is essential.
