As a key player in the Product Architecture team, you will significantly influence the product, platform, technology, and overall business by driving objectives through architectural insight, guidance, and proactive measures.

Our architects are not distant figures; they are hands-on creators and solution finders who collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and customer representatives to identify barriers to product success and explore new or enhanced components that could propel our platform forward.

This is an individual contributor role that encompasses both strategic and operational elements, with a primary focus on facilitating the delivery of value to clients and the organization.

This position is remote within the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze cross-functional business and product challenges and collaborate within the Product Architecture team to articulate and promote a unified vision for our product and architectural goals. Enhance organization-wide understanding of this vision.
  • Participate in technical design review sessions across the software engineering organization and ensure alignment with related initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and UX teams to guarantee we are developing the right solutions at the appropriate time.
  • Prototype, investigate, and mitigate risks associated with innovative approaches and methodologies that can alleviate or resolve obstacles to product objectives.
  • Contribute individually to foundational architectural and platform components to streamline product delivery and amplify the efforts of individual product teams.
  • Offer technical and product mentorship, guidance, and leadership to the broader team as one of its most seasoned members.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong inclination towards Product Engineering, focusing on how our architectural choices benefit the product, our clients, and overarching business objectives.
  • Extensive individual contributor experience in at least one core technology area to elevate the existing technical standards within the team. Possess enough practical experience from both successes and failures to discern what constitutes excellence, adequacy, and unacceptability for desired outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in evolving the broader architecture of a platform to enhance flexibility and introduce abstractions that support business growth.
    • A primary objective: implement platform-wide modifications to facilitate scalable growth of clinical data sources and hardware devices, along with subsequent insights. Possess ideas and real-world implementation experience with graph databases and modeling.
  • Experience in capturing and optimizing the customer/patient journey through tools and instrumentation as a priority.
  • Proficient across the technology stack, utilizing the most suitable technologies as needed. Relevant technologies include:
    • Event-driven Java microservices, with a preference for AWS fully-managed services, and distributed systems in general.
    • Streaming/event-based architectures, including Kinesis and Kafka.
    • Streaming ETL and multi-source data mapping/modeling, data aggregation, EMPI approaches (Enterprise Multi Patient Index), and entity resolution.
    • Native (iOS, Android) app platform functionality and architecture, as well as hybrid apps (Ionic, Capacitor).
    • Extensive experience with Bluetooth-connected device integration.
    • Modern, responsive, and high-performance web application development, particularly with Angular.
    • Familiarity with graph databases and innovative methods for modeling and utilizing highly interconnected data.
  • Experience with remote learning systems or platforms that guide users through complex processes, enabling them to perform tasks independently and confidently, is advantageous.
  • Experience with Bluetooth-connected medical devices is a plus.
