About the Role

The Hull City Council is seeking a skilled Streetcare Operative to join our team in maintaining the city's grounds and environmental standards. As a Streetcare Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the city's public spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out grounds maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and leaf clearance.
  • Operate machinery, such as strimmers and hedge trimmers, safely and efficiently.
  • Work with the public, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
  • Certification in the use of strimmers and hedge trimmers.
  • Valid driving license for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
