Role Overview:

As a Senior Consultant, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that include:

  • Conducting design workshops and evaluating clients' existing setups to produce detailed low-level design documentation.
  • Reviewing and validating documentation produced by yourself and your colleagues.
  • Leading customer-facing and internal project discussions alongside project managers, providing essential technical direction.
  • Managing escalations from clients and internal teams, collaborating with support and engineering teams as necessary.
  • Coordinating with different Business Units to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Working closely with the product engineering team to address challenges encountered during project execution.
  • Designing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive Virtual Cloud Infrastructure portfolio.

Required Expertise:

As a specialist in cloud infrastructure, you should possess a broad understanding of:

  • Storage Area Networks, Network-Attached Storage, Direct-Attached Storage, and cloud storage concepts.
  • Customer data management, downtime tolerance, and their implications on business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Modern and legacy workload platforms, including mainframe, bare-metal, virtualization, cloud, and cloud-native environments.

Additionally, you should be familiar with various third-party integrations with vSphere and VSAN, identifying any interoperability challenges.

Technical Knowledge:

Maintain a current and high-level technical understanding of the VMware product suite and its future developments, with expert knowledge of virtual cloud infrastructure products such as VCF, vSphere, VSAN, SRM, and HCX.

Certifications:

Possession of VCP (VMware Certified Professional) is essential, with VCAP/VCIX certifications being highly advantageous.

Desired Skills:

The following qualifications will enhance your candidacy:

  • Certifications like VCP-DCV or equivalent are mandatory.
  • VCAP-DCV, VCIX-DCV, or VCDX certifications are strongly preferred.
  • A comprehensive understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation deployment, management, and administration to collaborate effectively with sales, pre-sales, and clients in developing successful delivery roadmaps.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
  • An understanding of modern applications and their platform requirements is beneficial.
