We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a contract basis (6 months+).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing drawings for current module designs, capturing essential details as specified by the module design authority.
- Process engineering change requests (ECR) in response to engineering change orders (ECO).
- General assembly drawings using company standard templates, compliant with BS8888.
- Tolerance stack-up analysis to validate critical dimensions specified on drawings.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on drawings, based on tolerance stack-up analysis, to ensure adequate control of manufactured parts.
- Manage general assembly updates inherited from subcontractor design activities.
- General assembly models for various system design approaches.
- Simplified PCB models and sub-assemblies, with documented assumptions and justifications for simplifications.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience leading the mechanical design of aerospace hardware and/or complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Product development experience in RF communications or other high-frequency electronics.
- Experience in the mechanical integration of electronic components into assemblies.
- Knowledge and experience with engineering drawings using GD&T.
- Experience in tolerance stack-up analysis.
