About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's busy small office in Epsom. As a member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (ISOH), you will have a NEBOSH diploma and prior experience in health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Health and Safety Best Practices: Encourage continual improvement and reporting of 'near miss' situations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop and Implement RAM Statements: Create and maintain robust Risk Assessment and Method Statements to mitigate potential hazards.
- Support Regulatory Bodies: Assist with visits from external regulatory bodies, such as the UK Health and Safety Executive, as required.
- Health and Safety Policy and Procedures: Ensure consistency across all sites, including the warehouse, by maintaining and updating policies and procedures.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training sessions to meet employee training needs and promote a culture of health and safety awareness.
- Safe Systems of Work: Collaborate with managers to implement best practices and provide specialist advice and support as needed.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and identify potential hazards.
- Health and Safety Systems and Procedures: Establish and maintain effective systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and COSHH.
- Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular audits to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems and procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
- Fire Safety and DSE: Coordinate fire safety processes to ensure legal compliance, including evacuation procedures and fire prevention training, and ensure compliance with DSE requirements.
- Accident Investigation: Assist with investigations of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence, including keeping written records of the investigation and action taken.
Requirements:
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to interpret health and safety legislation.
- Policy Development: Ability to design and deliver training and produce written health and safety policies.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong oral communication skills, including presentation and training experience.
