Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain regular communication with team members, clients, HMRC, and other professional advisors.
  • Manage all facets of audit and accounts assignments, including:
    • Planning of jobs
    • Budget management
    • Time allocation
    • Delegation and oversight of team tasks
    • Monitoring team progress and project management
    • Conducting detailed file reviews and providing feedback to the team
    • Reviewing corporation tax calculations and collaborating with Tax Specialists
    • Finalizing files for Partner review, including corporation tax calculations
    • Submitting necessary documents to HMRC and Companies House
  • Promote the firm’s interests among employees, clients, potential clients, and external parties.
  • Encourage and motivate the team, offering timely and constructive feedback.
Staff Management:
  • Oversee and mentor trainees throughout their training contracts, providing assistance as needed.
  • Support the motivation and supervision of staff, particularly trainees.
  • Assist staff in securing suitable work to ensure full engagement and development, ensuring comprehensive debriefing post-assignment.
  • Contribute to in-house training initiatives.
  • Provide upward feedback to enhance team performance.
Practice Development:
  • Participate in client gatherings or seminars on an as-needed basis.
  • Identify opportunities for account development with clients and work with partners to advance these.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of new client presentations.
Administration:
  • Offer innovative solutions to enhance current systems related to client and staff matters.
  • Support billing processes.
  • Assist with debt collection efforts in coordination with client partners.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
  • Possess a relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or an equivalent international qualification.
  • Experience in managing both personnel and a client portfolio.
  • Current portfolio should include at least 40% audit work.
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax regulations.
  • High familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to convey technical knowledge clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in auditing Professional Services or Real Estate & Construction sectors.
  • Proficient in both substantive and controls-based audits, group reporting, and cross-border group audits.
  • Expertise in delivering primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS).
  • Dedication to exceptional client care and service.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining technical competence.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback effectively.
  • Strong time management and deadline adherence skills.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work.
