Position Summary:

As a Vice President within the UK M&A Advisory team, you will be actively involved in all phases of mergers and acquisitions, engaging with a diverse range of industry sectors. You will gain significant exposure to many of the key M&A transactions occurring in the UK, consistently recognized as one of the leading advisory firms in this space. In your role as a Vice President, you will hold a crucial and accountable position in facilitating the execution of both public and private M&A transactions for UK corporate clients, financial sponsors, and international clients with interests in the UK and Ireland.

You will cultivate strong competencies in essential investment banking functions and be positioned to evolve into a senior role capable of generating and executing your own transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with J.P. Morgan's product and sector teams
  • Lead transactions as the primary contact, managing all critical workstreams and junior team members
  • Oversee the development and application of intricate financial models, conducting valuation and analytical assessments
  • Prepare presentation materials, including management presentations, Board documents, memorandums, and other materials for M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client discussions
  • Facilitate transaction execution: assist in public and private M&A transactions across all workstreams, including due diligence, document preparation, negotiations, and liaising with relevant client counterparts and advisors (accounting, legal, etc.)
  • Stay informed on significant market trends and develop a thorough understanding of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
  • Monitor shareholder activism in the UK and support clients in their development strategies
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and junior management skills
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modeling capabilities
  • Familiarity with the UK Takeover Code and private transactions
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest and focus on deal execution
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • CFA Level III certification (or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment banking products (can be further developed through training)
  • Experience in client interactions and collaboration with other transactional advisors (can be enhanced through training)
This role involves the performance of regulated activities. The successful candidate will be subject to meeting regulatory standards regarding fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence as assessed by the Firm and, where applicable, approval by relevant regulatory authorities to perform such activities.
