AD WARRIOR is seeking an experienced and passionate Academic Instructor in Journalism to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering our Media Law and Ethics module, covering essential topics such as Civil and Criminal Law, Reporting Crimes and Court Proceedings, Defamation, Censorship and Freedom of Information, Public Interest, Harm and Offence, Taste and Decency, Print and Broadcasting Regulations, and Copyright and Intellectual Property Law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lectures: Provide clear, insightful, and interactive lectures that cover the full spectrum of media law and ethics, tailored to students pursuing a career in journalism.
  • Module Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the Media Law and Ethics module, ensuring that content remains current and relevant to industry standards.
  • Student Support: Offer guidance and mentorship to students, helping them understand complex legal principles and their application in journalism.
  • Assessment: Design and grade assessments that accurately measure students' understanding and application of media law and ethics.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay connected with the latest developments in traditional journalism and media law to provide real-world examples and case studies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty members to integrate legal and ethical considerations across the journalism curriculum.

Requirements:

  • A strong academic background in Traditional Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in journalism, with a particular focus on legal and ethical issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of media law, including Civil and Criminal Law, Defamation, Censorship, and Intellectual Property Law.
  • Experience in teaching or training, preferably at the higher education level.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to students with varying levels of prior knowledge.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
