Role Purpose

The role entails overseeing the planning and execution of client accounting obligations, ensuring compliance with the company's contractual commitments. As a key member of the management team, you will contribute to strategic initiatives and facilitate the training and development of the accounting personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold processes to guarantee the timely fulfillment of client accounting needs, particularly concerning financial statements and reports for both private and public funds, along with associated entities.
  • Ensure adherence to current accounting standards and best practices throughout the accounts production process, remaining updated as these standards evolve.
  • Collaborate with clients and other advisors to set timelines for the preparation of annual, interim, and management accounts.
  • Participate in board meetings and client discussions as necessary to present financial statements and operational matters, ensuring that team representatives are well-prepared and informed.
  • Coordinate with auditors to facilitate the prompt completion of audits for funds and related entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure ongoing obligations of stock exchange-listed entities are fulfilled in relation to financial accounting duties.
  • Manage and enhance the structure and reporting lines within the accounting team, determining staffing needs and overseeing recruitment processes.
  • Inspire and motivate team members, maintaining quality control measures and striving for continuous improvement in departmental and individual performance.
  • Provide necessary training resources to equip staff for their roles, ensuring that objectives and management goals are clearly defined and agreed upon.
  • Document, review, and improve team procedures regularly to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team through regular departmental meetings to discuss ongoing work.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals for new business opportunities and engage with potential clients.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • ACCA, ACA qualified or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience preferred.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate the accounting team effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues at all levels and manage workload priorities.
  • Patience and capability to develop staff through training and personal development initiatives.
  • Ability to contribute to the strategic objectives of the organization.
