Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams in the Somerset division of our global specialist equipment manufacturer. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the success of our projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead 'Mechanical Engineering' activities across projects, ensuring cohesive and collaborative team work towards successful project milestones and completion.
- Advocate and lead best practice mechanical engineering across projects to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality, and specification, while ensuring effective technical governance for safety, compliance, quality, and reliability.
- Ensure the mechanical engineering of product development meets requirements from stakeholders through to subsystem-level requirements, with effective validation and verification plans in place.
- Lead the mechanical engineering budgets for people and financial resources and contribute to the development of future forecasting with the Senior Engineering Manager.
- Experience of practical application of best-practice Mechanical Engineering in a relatable engineering industry.
- Significant experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry with a strong understanding of product safety and compliance.
- Experience of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Mechanical Engineers from both internal and external talent pools.
- Experience of tutoring/instructing best-practice Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard and hold people accountable to deliver.
