Overview of the Position
We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Operations Architect who possesses the expertise to navigate various technological and business sectors. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in diverse environments and are passionate about steering the technical vision and operational framework across a multifaceted SAP ecosystem. Our SAP Architects typically function as technical authorities within project teams, guiding the process from initial design and development to final implementation and ongoing support, including incident resolution. Your responsibility will be to define their strategic path and oversee their execution.
You may also be tasked with contributing to the formulation of commercial proposals and providing insights into the operational and management aspects of the technical solutions. Building and nurturing relationships with key client stakeholders is crucial to this role, as it enables you to earn trust and influence strategic decisions. Additionally, you will assist the senior management team in enhancing the quality and capability of our service deliveries.
Work Environment: Your daily work locations will vary based on your role, personal needs, and business requirements; this will include a mix of company offices, client locations, and remote work, with the understanding that full-time remote work is not an option.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the SAP Lead Architect, you will be accountable for ensuring that the technical solution designs produced by the Architects are operationally sound. You will collaborate with technical leads and project management teams to address technical challenges and ensure the safe transition of solutions into live operations. Your role includes ensuring that designs are ready for reliable and cost-effective production.
Some of the essential duties include:
• Grasp and influence client expectations, deliverables, and responsibilities to ensure compliance with Architecture Governance standards, industry best practices, and alignment with the client's architectural vision.
• Effectively manage the defined technical scope throughout the project lifecycle and take ownership of architectural solutions and non-functional requirements based on client needs.
• Guide the client's strategic direction to ensure that we deliver the latest insights from the global Capgemini Group for their benefit.
• Ensure that our architects create comprehensive architectural documentation, including landscape designs, system sizing, and a well-maintained RAID log.
Required Skills and Experience
• Profound knowledge of high-volume architectural and technical SAP solutions (including ECC, Portal, and PI).
• Strong understanding of Non-Functional Requirements and the ability to mitigate their effects on SAP solutions.
• Proven experience in building relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Capability to set strategic direction, define technical scope, and lead teams of technical professionals while overseeing their deliverables.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and facilitation skills, particularly in technical problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Security Clearance Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions; however, if you have lived outside the UK in the past three years, additional checks may be necessary. Further criteria and checks are required for BPSS, and you will be asked questions regarding your security clearance eligibility throughout the recruitment process.
