Key Responsibilities:
As a Finance Support Specialist, your role will encompass a variety of essential tasks, including:
- Processing supplier invoices, including those from subcontractors
- Reconciling supplier accounts and statements
- Addressing and resolving reconciliation queries promptly
- Managing supplier disputes and inquiries
- Setting up new supplier and subcontractor accounts while maintaining existing records in the purchase ledger
- Overseeing the subcontractor insurances register to ensure compliance
- Processing weekly timesheets and credit card transactions
- Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs
- Handling VAT reverse charge and CIS monthly returns
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing internal processes within the finance department
- Performing any other relevant ad-hoc duties to support the finance team
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in purchase ledger management and a solid understanding of CIS regulations. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, is advantageous, although experience with any accounting package will be considered. A qualification in AAT or an equivalent is preferred.
This role is particularly suited for individuals who have previously held positions such as Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Assistant, or Finance Assistant.
