**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our construction project management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of budgeting and financial control processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Collaborate with senior quantity surveyors/directors to estimate project costs, considering materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
- Budget Monitoring: Assist in monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and providing regular financial updates to project managers.
- Tendering and Procurement: Support in preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and managing procurement processes in accordance with project requirements.
- Measurement and Valuation: Carry out quantity take-offs and valuations of work in progress, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
- Contract Administration: Assist in administering contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and resolving contractual issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, including measurements, valuations, and correspondence.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to costs and advise on strategies to mitigate them.
- Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to address queries and provide financial updates.
Requirements:
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
