Job Overview

We are looking for a Phlebotomist to work in our busy community phlebotomy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work under the direction of the Phlebotomy Lead to ensure a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for service users
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, carers, and other members of the team
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and support the team in achieving our goals and objectives

Requirements

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Accredited Qualification in Venepuncture
  • Basic First Aid Qualification
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Broad experience in taking bloods
  • Experience of Training junior members of staff in clinical and administrative procedures
  • Experience of responsibility for maintaining stock of clinical supplies and other basic Administrative duties including arranging appointments
  • Be familiar and conversant with blood collection equipment in terms of their use and function
  • To comply and understand how to take corrective action in case of an untoward event
