Teaching Assistant - Higher Level

We are seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Wigan. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering learning activities and leading classes during scenarios like PPA time and teacher absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver learning activities in collaboration with teachers.
  • Lead classes and cover teacher absences, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students.
  • Maintain a safe and controlled classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to organize activities and resources.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with LSAs and support staff to provide a comprehensive support system.
  • Prepare and develop class displays to enhance the learning environment.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Previous HLTA and class leadership experience.
  • Comfortable managing challenging behaviors and engaging with students.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Creative and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • HLTA qualified - L3/4 upwards.
