Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Mobile Health Team Inc. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and analyze patient information to identify and meet patientspecific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
- Complete and verify documentation.
- Explain pretesting testing and posttesting procedures to the patient.
- Perform testing preparation procedures such as calibration of equipment applying sensors and electrodes according to accepted published standards; performing appropriate physiologic calibrations and performing positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
- Perform polysomnographic procedures following established protocols to ensure the collection of appropriate data and documents appropriately.
- Follow lights out procedures to establish and document baseline values and lights on procedures to verify the integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process.
- Perform data acquisition while monitoring studytrace quality to ensure signals are artifactfree and makes adjustments if necessary.
- Document routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events changes in procedure and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide agespecific care in the treatment assessment and education of patients.
- Implement appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous bilevel positive airway pressure oxygen administration etc.).
- Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
- Score sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Score clinical events according to centerspecific protocols. Assist with generating accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
- Comply with hospital and departmental policies procedures and regulations regarding safety and infection control standards as related to the job.
- Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance.
- Evaluate sleep studyrelated equipment and inventory.
- Demonstrate the hospitals stated mission vision and values of teamwork respect and communication with coworkers patients families and visitors.
- Actively and appropriately participate in problemsolving identification and resolution both intra and interdepartmentally.
- Meet department customer service standards and strive to enhance the level of customer service provided.
- 2 years recent Sleep Tech experience
- MUST be a Registered/ Certified Sleep Tech
- Must be able to hit the ground running and work independently
- Ability to perform EEGs
- Work History
- Skills Checklist (pertinent to position) current to 1 year
- 1 Supervisory Signed Reference (from within the past two years of employment)
- Certifications Must be uploaded with profile Facility will not pend
- BLS (AHA)
