Audiology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As an autonomous clinical practitioner, you will undertake diagnostic hearing tests on adult and some paediatric patients, both routine and complex cases.

You will provide a counselling and rehabilitative service to hearing aid users, as well as prescribing and fitting suitable hearing aids. We would like you to have a BSc (or equivalent) in Audiology (or expecting to be qualified soon).

• Perform a broad range of clinical activities such as hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings on adults.
• Work with patients to set realistic outcomes and help them achieve their desired outcomes.
• Provide all aspects of hearing aid care, including repairs, advice, and guidance on assistive technologies and telecare.
• Conduct diagnostic testing on older children and patients attending the ENT Department.

Torbay and South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of approximately 300,000 people, with a throughput of around 30,000 patients per annum. We are based at Torbay Hospital and run audiology clinics across 8 localities in the South Devon area.

We offer domiciliary visits for patients who cannot attend the hospital and provide a range of specialist services, including direct access hearing assessment clinics for adults, hearing assessment clinics for neonates and paediatrics, and specialist adult rehabilitation services.

• Must have full BSc in Audiology or equivalent or due to qualify.
• Proven experience in using a range of various hearing aid software packages.
• Knowledge of test techniques and rehab skills used in Audiology.
• Ability to travel to locality clinics (car driver with full license).
