We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity for a Marketing and Content expert to spearhead The Greater Game initiative.

The Greater Game is a mission-driven grassroots initiative that harnesses the influence of football to enhance the health and well-being of youth across the country, motivating them to undertake at least one healthier action weekly.

Research by The FA indicates that nearly one-third (31%) of young individuals lack motivation to exercise, and over half (52%) have experienced mental health challenges in the previous year.

This is the reason behind the creation of The Greater Game, targeting those aged 12-16 and their associated networks (parents, guardians, coaches, educators, local communities, etc.). This is a long-term endeavor, and we are confident that leveraging the power and reach of football, alongside collaboration with both existing and new partners, can drive meaningful change.

In this role, you will lead the marketing and content execution for The Greater Game, working towards key program objectives, including:
Amplifying the reach and visibility of the initiative. Engaging and educating coaches to integrate the program into grassroots coaching practices. Motivating young individuals through our channels to foster long-term behavioral change. Meeting the commercial expectations of our program partners. Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the initiative.
  • Craft and execute the marketing and content strategy, ensuring seamless integration across communications, campaigns, grassroots efforts, and England Football learning teams.
  • Establish a continuous content strategy for a new YouTube channel dedicated to the initiative, including ideation and production of all content in collaboration with our content agency.
  • Design and implement paid media campaigns to enhance reach and engagement with relevant content for targeted audiences.
  • Assist the grassroots team in organizing an annual Greater Game conference focused on boosting attendee recruitment.
  • Collaborate with the CRM team to create automated email content for program facilitators.
  • Maximize engagement within the program across key stakeholder groups such as the CFA network.
  • Support the campaigns team during peak activation moments and enhance owned channel engagement through these efforts.
  • Act as the brand steward for the initiative, developing all necessary creative materials with our creative agency.
  • Provide insights, measurement, and success tracking through marketing channels.
  • Opportunity to assist and lead marketing efforts for future purpose-driven grassroots initiatives introduced by the organization.
  • Support the FA's initiatives on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to align with the evolving priorities of the FA Group.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest health standards, safety, and well-being.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract basis.
