Position Overview

DEED Leisure and Culture is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) dedicated to providing a wide range of community-focused services, including leisure, sports, library, information, and cultural offerings.

We are currently seeking individuals for full-time and part-time roles at various library branches throughout the city.

Available Positions:

  • Coldside / Arthurstone Libraries, 37 hours
  • Central Library, Leisure Reading Department, hours to be determined
  • Fintry Library, 19 hours
  • Kirkton Library, 19 hours

These positions are fixed-term for a duration of 12 months.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 National 4 Passes or equivalent qualifications, including English.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Library and Information Service at DEED Leisure and Culture, you will be responsible for delivering a friendly, efficient, and responsive service to our users.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and IT skills, along with a genuine passion for literature and library services.

You should have a keen interest in engaging with the community and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively. A flexible mindset is essential, as you will be involved in various events and activities, including:

  • Reading groups
  • Storytelling sessions
  • Bookbug sessions
  • Holiday programs
  • IT training workshops

Please note that this position is classified as Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to receiving a formal employment offer from DEED Leisure and Culture.
