Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Product Engineering team, specifically our Aggregate Team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing data pipelines, orchestrating key activities such as data ingestion, extraction, and transformation, and ensuring the reliability and security of integration points.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Integration and Orchestration: Develop and maintain integrations with external systems, partners, and platforms, ensuring seamless data exchange and workflow automation.
  • Data Quality and Validation: Implement and improve data quality and validation checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving data mismatch bugs and other data quality issues.
  • Cloud Engineering: Collaborate with our product manager and stakeholders to collect and refine data requirements, optimize data storage, infrastructure performance, and cost, and practice and promote excellent data and cloud engineering best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a high-performing team, creating and refining tickets, participating in planning sessions, and team retrospectives, and contributing to the development and maintenance of our data warehouse solution on Snowflake.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Python programming for data manipulation and automation, proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow, and proficiency in Git.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of data challenges and strategies to address them, including data quality, privacy, and security, and a pragmatic approach to data engineering, balancing the need for near-term value with future-proofing and scalability.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and a willingness to take initiative, proactively contribute ideas, and own work from the beginning to the end with minimal supervision.
