About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team in County Durham. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out fault-finding activities and undertaking timely repair of equipment in various areas, including conveyor systems, fluid tanks, pumps, motors, bearings, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities.
  • Fault diagnosis, servicing, and repair of paint, etch, and wash facilities across the site.
  • Prepare shift reports to highlight shift problems and communicate this to the team in a shift handover.
  • Drive improvement activities and work with external suppliers to deliver projects on time.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times.
About You
  • You will have served an apprenticeship in maintenance or fitting, preferably in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent.
  • Possess a good mechanical knowledge of pumps, motors, conveyor systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage your own time and prioritize workload.
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, open to change, and have a can-do approach.
