Job OverviewThe Director & Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance is a critical role within our organization, responsible for designing and implementing our compliance program in EMEA. This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs, and will be able to work closely with our business and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program to ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.
- Maintain and continuously improve our ethics and compliance program, including the drafting, review, and revision of policies and procedures.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments to identify and address potential compliance issues.
- Implement our global anti-bribery and anti-corruption framework.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Provide advice on compliance matters related to our operations, including real estate, construction, human resources, privacy, and other areas as needed.
- Support our ESG and D&I initiatives, and contribute to our corporate sustainability programs.
- Implement and improve our compliance system tools, including our whistleblower hotline and case management tool.
- Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to compliance policies through training programs and regular communications.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and corrective action plans.
- Work closely with internal teams to integrate risk management into operational processes.
- Ensure that compliance training materials are up-to-date and reflect current regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and manage internal investigations, in collaboration with other internal stakeholders and, as necessary, with outside counsel.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs, with a significant portion in the data center or technology industry.
- Significant compliance experience, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, trade compliance, privacy, internal investigations, and whistleblower reporting.
- Corporate compliance and ethics experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm, governmental enforcement authority, or multinational company.
- Experience using statistical analysis and other presentation data formats.
- Experience leading critical projects from start to end, onboarding and leading people on a team and across multiple projects.
- Ability to identify compliance risks proactively and mitigate those risks effectively.
- Exemplary leadership and organization skills, including program and project management, prioritization, and time management.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills to articulate complex risks and issues effectively to different levels of stakeholders and senior executives.
