About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cook in Charge to join our team at Carmarthenshire County Council. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchens, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and serving of nutritious and appetizing meals to a range of special diets
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers
  • Monitor and control kitchen stock and supplies
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a catering or hospitality environment
  • Food hygiene certificate and basic IT skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
