Job Title: Senior Accountant - European Profit Centres

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Europe. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for producing and analyzing monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets for our European profit centres.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Production of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and annual budgets for European profit centres.
  2. Production and review of contractor margins using accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
  3. Variance analysis - comparison of actual vs forecast and current month vs last month to understand movement in the period.
  4. Respond to P&L queries tabled by Regional Director and Finance Manager.
  5. Balance sheet reconciliations for entities under remit, using company-defined summary templates.
  6. Managing integrity of balance sheet by identifying opportunities and risks, escalating where appropriate.
  7. Management Accounts revamp project - building audit-ready management accounts packs.
  8. Preparation and delivery of regular reports to senior management.
  9. Involved in key stages of development, playing an integral part in growth of Airswift accounting team.
  10. Statutory Accounts Production - providing TBs, Ledger extracts, and Balance Sheet accounts & samples to auditors for testing.
  11. Manage, coach, and lead accounts payable team.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA only).
  2. Ability to work in time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines.
  3. Ability to be flexible and multitask with day-to-day workflow.
  4. Work experience in Management Accounts role (or similar) of 2+ years.
  5. Effective communicator, articulate, professional, and confident, both with finance and non-finance colleagues.
  6. Accountable, driven attitude, flexible, and adaptable characteristics required as an individual.
  7. Previous experience working with accounting systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  8. Robust and thorough knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
  9. Confident in challenging existing processes and holding colleagues to standards set out by Senior Management.
