Materials Coordinator

Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We're looking for a skilled Materials Planner to join our team at our Wednesbury site.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage stock levels and ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.
- Order ingredients and packaging, considering lead times and shelf life.
- Monitor sales forecasts and respond to changes.
- Build and maintain a Bill Of Materials (BOM) spreadsheet and monitor daily usage.
- Liaise with suppliers and manage stock takes, ensuring correct stock rotation.
- Cross-check all deliveries to site.
- Prepare for new product launches and key moments, ensuring packaging is in place to meet deadlines.
- Avert potential service level and performance issues by escalating variances.
- Track daily packing and preparation schedules to ensure fulfillment of the plan.
- Continuously track actual performance versus planned performance to drive corrective actions.
- Previous experience in stock control and replenishment practices, ideally in the food industry.
- Previous experience in a fast-moving manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills at all levels, with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a pressurized environment.
- High standard of IT proficiency, including using Microsoft Excel to collate and present data.
- Self-motivated with a flexible and conscientious approach to work.
