About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Research Analyst to join our UK Corporate Governance team in London. This is a unique opportunity to join our market-leading team and contribute to the development of our research and analysis capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing corporate governance data and financial information to provide insights and recommendations to institutional investors.
  • Authoring detailed and well-reasoned written analyses on listed companies, including their corporate governance practices and financial performance.
  • Providing vote recommendations for shareholders' general meetings, based on our voting policies and research findings.
  • Engaging in dialogue with senior representatives of large companies as part of the research process, to gain a deeper understanding of their corporate governance practices and challenges.
  • Engaging with institutional investor clients and other stakeholders to provide research and analysis support.
  • Discussing reports and responding to questions, both internally and externally, to ensure that our research and analysis are accurate and informative.
  • Contributing to the publication of research papers and the development of our corporate governance policies, to help shape the market and drive best practice.
  • Developing expertise in the UK market regarding corporate governance, investment, and shareholders' issues, to provide informed and insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Participating in debates on corporate governance and the implementation of our voting policy among team members and other research teams, to ensure that our research and analysis are informed by the latest thinking and best practice.
Requirements
  • Impeccable written English and the ability to construct well-reasoned and cogent analysis, in clear and sophisticated language.
  • Demonstrable ability to analyze complex data and information, and to distil it into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate governance and/or ESG-related fields, or equivalent experience in copywriting, investment writing, or financial journalism.
  • Interest in finance, investment management, and corporate governance topics, and a strong understanding of the UK market.
  • Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Political Sciences, International Relations, History, or English.
  • Confident, polished, and diplomatic verbal communication, with the ability to engage with senior representatives of large companies and institutional investor clients.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to absorb and distil large quantities of information.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office apps, especially Word and Excel.
