About the Opportunity

Jacobs is a global company driving innovation in multiple sectors, and our Nuclear Power and Engineering Technical Services (NPETS) business is entering an exciting phase of opportunity. We're currently recruiting for a Principal C&I Engineer to join our team and support our key client's UK nuclear fleet through a business transformation.

This role will be based at one of our UK NPETS offices, and we're happy to consider flexible working patterns. As a Principal C&I Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading project delivery teams across the project lifecycle, owning and managing project budgets, and building and managing client relationships.

You'll work on systems integration, testing, and validation of PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems, and demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understanding the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment.

We're looking for a motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress. You'll need to have a degree in C&I or a relevant discipline, Chartered Engineer status, and previous team leadership or technical lead experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects.
  • Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle.
  • Own and manage project budgets.
  • Build and manage client relationships.
  • Work on systems integration, testing, and validation of PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understanding the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports.
