Mobile Field Service Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Field Service Engineer to join our team at Imperium Automation. As a key member of our Mobile Field Service Team, you will be responsible for providing shift cover and responding to breakdowns at multiple sites across the West and East Midlands, the North West, and at times further afield.

Your primary focus will be on carrying out preventative maintenance on material handling equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, sortation machinery, and robotics. You will also be involved in installations and projects, predominantly at Distribution Centres.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator and able to integrate with resident teams at our clients' sites, ensuring that you represent Imperium Automation in a professional manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on material handling equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide shift cover at multiple sites
  • Assist with installations and projects at Distribution Centres
  • Communicate effectively with resident teams at clients' sites
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or Apprentice Trained Electrical/Multi Skilled
  • Good understanding of PLCs
  • Experience of working in Automated Distribution Centres
  • Sound awareness of risk assessment, method statements, permits, and working safely
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with liaising with customers in a professional manner
  • IPAF trained and confident working at height, confined spaces
