Team/Role Overview

The individual in this position will function as a Product Officer, tasked with supporting internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs aimed at preventing legal, regulatory, or rule violations. This role involves designing and implementing a risk management framework that aligns with the firm's risk appetite and safeguards the franchise. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with the ICRM Product and Function coverage teams to develop and apply ICRM program solutions that cater to the needs of the ICRM Markets function and its clients, in accordance with the Citi program framework. Key responsibilities include monitoring compliance risk behaviors and providing daily Compliance guidance related to the supported function/business/product, as well as interpreting internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of top-tier Compliance programs, policies, and practices for ICRM.
  • Offering insights on rules and regulations concerning operational issues related to function/business/product, along with providing transactional approvals and interpretations of internal compliance policies.
  • Assisting with regulatory inquiries and examinations, which may involve coordination with regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with various internal departments, including Legal, Business Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, and other Control Functions, to address compliance challenges affecting the supported function/business/product.
  • Supporting the creation and administration of Compliance training for the relevant function/business/product.
  • Investigating new reform rules and amendments, implementing necessary policies, procedures, or controls to ensure compliance.
  • Carefully assessing risk during business decision-making, with a focus on protecting the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring adherence to applicable laws, rules, and regulations, maintaining Policy compliance, exercising sound ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting control issues.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role within the financial services sector.
  • Experience in the Markets Compliance function.
  • In-depth knowledge of Compliance laws, regulations, risks, and typologies.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and innovative mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; adept at navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the relevant area.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.

Education

A Bachelor's degree is required, along with experience in compliance, legal, or other control-related functions within a financial services firm, regulatory body, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination of these experiences; a strong working knowledge of the supported function/business/product and its associated operations and financial requirements is essential; an advanced degree is preferred.
