BHSI is seeking a Property Risk Assessment Engineer to enhance our team. This role focuses on performing comprehensive account evaluations, conducting site assessments, and engaging in discussions with clients and brokers to address various engineered risks, thereby supporting the General Property underwriting division. Collaborating closely with underwriters, this position is pivotal in sustaining a robust portfolio through effective risk selection, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute detailed account assessments and on-site evaluations for underwriting objectives.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for the underwriting department.
  • Work in conjunction with the Global Engineering team to establish standards, guidelines, and technological advancements.
  • Engage in meetings with brokers and clients to strengthen relationships and provide valuable insights.
  • Oversee quality assurance for survey documentation and coordinate services for designated accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in field and/or account engineering.
  • Familiarity with various occupancy types, FM Data Sheets, NFPA codes, and EN standards.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Highly driven with excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client and broker meetings as well as surveys.
  • Industry certifications are advantageous.
