Job Description

ROLE: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer



TERM: Permanent



COMPENSATION: £45,000 - £60,000, dependent on experience



Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in a permanent capacity. Our client specializes in designing and manufacturing robotic products and solutions.



The Ideal Candidate

  • Will have a keen interest in robotics and automation
  • Will possess at least 3 years' experience in a similar Mechanical / Design Engineering position
  • Will be proficient in using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.
  • Will hold a degree, HNC, HND, BTEC, or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Will have previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Will have knowledge of various materials, including sheet metal, injection-molded plastics, etc.
  • Will possess good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Will be proficient in using MS Office
  • Will have excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Will be able to work well independently as well as part of a small, multi-disciplinary team



Key Responsibilities

  • Will use SolidWorks for concept design and produce technical drawings
  • Will liaise with manufacturing providers
  • Will be involved in the final assembly of products
  • Will create the required documentation for design, as well as project reports and plans
  • Will update 3D models and drawings
  • Will input parts into the MRP system, creating BOMs
  • Will check drawings for sign-off
  • Will work in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
