About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software and Controls Engineer to join our team at Warburtons, the UK's No. 1 Bakery Brand. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our control systems, ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement automation solutions to improve plant performance and efficiency
  • Maintain and troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs and networks
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and complete continuous improvement projects
  • Support in breakdown resolution and lead the investigation into root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences
  • Drive a proactive engineering continuous improvement culture cross-functionally
Requirements
  • Strong drive to identify opportunities for equipment improvement using plant-based automation and related solutions
  • Experience in fault finding and maintaining existing control systems, preferably with Allen Bradley (Rockwell) platforms
  • Experience of software development and programming languages, including ladder logic
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and networks
  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of control related systems
  • Knowledge and experience of project management
  • Knowledge / awareness of functional safety
  • Proven experience of improvements resulting in a reduction of breakdowns or increased efficiency
