Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Surveyor for Minor Construction Projects to become a vital part of our Investment and Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Programme Manager to develop minor construction project plans, including sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of minor construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to sustainability standards.
  • Partner with contractors to guarantee timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality project delivery.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure successful implementation of sustainability retrofit projects, meeting all required quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM requirements.
  • Manage urgent minor construction projects as necessary.

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will possess a degree in Building Surveying or a related field and be a member of RICS, CIOB, or an equivalent organization.

Additionally, candidates should have completed a NEBOSH or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or a comparable qualification.

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • Proven experience in managing minor construction projects and building contracts within the social housing sector or a related field.
  • Familiarity with sustainability retrofit projects.
  • Ability to create detailed work schedules.
  • Experience in budget management and addressing financial discrepancies.
  • Capability to manage multiple contracts while fostering long-term relationships.
  • Knowledge of contract law, building regulations, and construction practices.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation, including asbestos and CDM requirements.
  • Experience in contract procurement and mobilization.
