Chelmer Medical Partnership is seeking a dedicated Medication Processing Specialist to become an integral part of our dynamic prescribing team, focused on delivering exceptional patient care. This position is available on a part-time basis, offering 16 hours of work each week.
Main Responsibilities- Facilitating a secure and effective workflow by managing repeat medication requests.
- Collaborating with our General Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, and local pharmacies.
- Providing informative guidance and support to patients as needed.
- Monitoring and addressing email inquiries.
- Responding to all requests and questions from pharmacies, nursing facilities, and community nurses regarding medication prescriptions.
- Maintaining accurate repeat prescription records in the patient journal, including correspondence and physician requests.
- Distributing review notifications.
- Staying informed about all relevant prescribing guidelines and protocols associated with the role.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Prior experience in a GP or primary healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with SystmOne is advantageous (comprehensive training will be provided).
- Strong IT proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone.
- A flexible approach with a positive demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate effective communication.
- Commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
- Willingness to cover for colleagues during absences and holidays.
