Position Summary:

The role of the Automation Support Engineer is pivotal within the Müller Milk & Ingredients division, located in Droitwich. This position focuses on enhancing site automation performance through the development of systems and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide reactive support for automation-related issues on-site, following a clear escalation process.
  • Employ a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Oversee minor automation capital expenditure projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Assist in the delivery of various site projects that incorporate automation elements.
  • Facilitate site activities related to centrally managed capital projects.
  • Maintain and monitor automation and electrical system software, ensuring proper documentation version control.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Development team to offer site insights for the ongoing evolution of group automation and electrical standards.
  • Ensure adherence to group electrical and automation standards for site projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage obsolescence within the roadmap, coordinating with the Automation Development Team to emphasize site criticality.
  • Lead the site-level Obsolescence and Improvements Plan, focusing on advanced control systems.
  • Analyze performance data to contribute to automation operational excellence activities aimed at enhancing efficiency and operability in production.
  • Maintain the site panel risk assessment register, conducting periodic health checks and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Provide specialized automation support for site improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize specialized skills and system access to validate and analyze site data, supporting quality enhancement efforts.

Müller Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in continuous business improvement efforts.
  • Promote engineering-based operational excellence projects.
  • Support site roadmaps for Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management Systems, Engineering, and Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Encourage the delivery of innovative ideas to enhance business operations.
  • Assist in improvement activities within engineering-managed areas.
  • Understand the implications of personal and team actions on achieving site and business objectives.
  • Recognize how current performance affects overall profitability.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to new colleagues.
  • Prioritize health and safety for oneself and others.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Strong electrical engineering skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects.
  • Previous experience in a similar automation engineering role.
  • Preferred background in the FMCG industry.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in IT is essential.
