About the RoleThe HR Senior Advisor is a key member of the Tandridge Learning Trust team, responsible for delivering core HR-related tasks and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Trust's HR function.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain HR strategies and policies to support the objectives of the Trust
- Advise and support Senior Leaders on all aspects of HR, providing guidance and support, staying up to date with relevant legislation and changes to education terms and conditions
- Ensure accurate and appropriate records of HR-related issues, including TUPE, grievance, absence management, performance management, and disciplinary matters
- Oversee and manage HR operations across the trust to ensure consistency and efficiency, ensuring all contractual and legal requirements are met
- Complete statutory and audit returns as required
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, including selection and onboarding activities, developing our offer to become an employer of choice
- HR file and contract maintenance, ensuring that HR systems are kept up to date and meet legislative requirements
- Line manage, guide, and develop the HR team to enable the function to provide an effective and successful HR service to schools within the Trust
- Plan workloads and resources to enable the team to deliver a quality service to all stakeholders
- Periodically review processes, looking for opportunities to streamline, automate, and provide efficiency
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent professional qualification
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures with experience of advising others in an education context
- Knowledge of current HR legislation, including up-to-date knowledge of employment law and full working knowledge of relevant legislation, including equal opportunities and data protection (GDPR)
- Ability to apply relevant health and safety, equality, and diversity, and other policies and procedures
