Role Overview

The main objective of this position is to deliver precise and competitive cost assessments for both new and ongoing projects within the Private facilities management sector at OCS UK. The focus will be on creating contract-specific pricing solutions for cleaning, security, and other facilities management services, ensuring alignment with customer requirements through effective resource allocation, including labor, equipment, technology, and materials.

This role requires close collaboration with teams in Business Development, Operations, Bid Support, Finance, and Commercial sectors to create a cohesive virtual team. The Senior Cost Estimation Specialist will lead the financial and pricing evaluations during Bid 'Sign Offs' alongside the CFD & MD of Private FM. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, the Cost Estimation Specialist will provide essential commercial and financial support to the Private FM business development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver commercially viable and competitively priced solutions to support bid and rebid initiatives, utilizing optimal methodologies for cleaning and security as per specifications.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveys to develop tailored solutions and schedules for specific contracts.
  • Analyze and interpret building plans to assist in the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Leverage external and internal benchmarking data to enhance the estimating process.
  • Maintain and update internal benchmarking data for accuracy and relevance.
  • Provide supporting materials for resource planning, including rosters, shift patterns, and schedules as needed for bids.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Service to explore innovative and alternative service solutions.
  • Work with other service stream leaders and estimators to identify opportunities for role multi-skilling to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop plans, schedules, and cost information to facilitate the mobilization and transition processes.
  • Support contract enhancement and retention through effective re-engineering and constructive challenges to existing and proposed solutions, both within OCS and the supply chain.
  • Stay informed about market trends and service knowledge to effectively apply insights to our solutions through networking and industry engagement.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree level education or equivalent preferred.
  • Professional Finance qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven experience in meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in reviewing commercial aspects of bids.
  • Capability to quickly establish credibility with operational managers.
  • Proactive, customer-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload for effective service delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and a high level of IT literacy across MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.
