About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to join our Pharmacy Department at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to surgical wards, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to meet the needs of surgical wards, including the development of Clinical Pharmacy KPIs to monitor quality and effectiveness.
  • Support the Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacists in the development and implementation of Trust medicines policies, systems, and processes.
  • Lead on clinical service development, providing support to Trust initiatives regarding medicines, and working with other colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Act as a senior leader within the Pharmacy Department, deputising for the Chief/Deputy Chief Pharmacist as required.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to Foundation Pharmacists and Band 6/7 Clinical Pharmacists.
  • Act as a line manager and educational supervisor, supporting the development of pharmacists and technicians.
  • Undertake research, audits, and development activities in Medicines Optimisation, Prescribing, and Pharmacy practice to ensure continual progression of services and achievement of nationally agreed targets.
