Job Title: Data Quality Specialist Midwife

We are seeking an exceptional midwife to join our team as a Data Quality Specialist Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our maternity service Lead for Patient Safety and Quality to ensure patient safety and quality matters are delivered in line with the Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work as a senior support to the Divisional leadership team for Women's services and deliver key learning work streams linked to the output of the women's operational clinical governance team.
  • Use data from Datix for updating ward and unit safety boards, developing safety newsletters, writing up and presenting patient cases alongside thematically reviewing adverse incidents, trends in risks and the Divisional complaints activity.
  • Develop and coach local leaders in learning from safety incidents and reducing harm and risk across the division.
  • Foster a positive proactive approach to risk management developing close links with clinical and managerial staff.
  • Act as a self-relating practitioner who horizon scans to ensure the divisional governance activities remain in line with current best practice.
Requirements:
  • Registered Midwife
  • Mentorship Preparation Programme or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Educated to BSc/ BA degree level or equivalent experience in knowledge
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Post-preceptorship experience
  • Understanding of clinical governance and associated activities
  • Understanding of national patient safety agendas and national maternity safety ambitions
  • Patient Safety Investigator training/ RCA training
  • Leadership training
  • QISR Training
  • Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA)
  • Experience of patient safety activities i.e. Serious Incident report writing
  • Experience of working within a service or team
  • Teaching and training experience
  • Knowledge of clinical change management
  • Experience of chairing meetings
  • Awareness of: CNST/CQC/ MBRRACE/PMRT /Attain, Ockenden
