Position Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist in underground services management to join a prominent project with Carmichael UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, oversee, and execute strategies for the identification and safeguarding of all underground services.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted to avoid any potential disruptions to the primary construction timeline.
  • Engage with utility providers to acquire and maintain comprehensive records of services located on and around the project site.
  • Authorize excavation permits and keep meticulous records of all permits issued.
  • Ensure that all service locations are clearly marked on-site.
  • Conduct briefings for all personnel regarding service locations and associated risks.
  • Contribute to the formulation of Work Package Plans (WPP) and Task Briefs.
  • Maintain a precise understanding of all service-related information throughout the construction phases.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to assist in defining the requirements for temporary civil and mechanical & electrical (M&E) arrangements necessary for the timely execution of the main civil works.
  • Coordinate with permanent and temporary civil M&E designers, subcontractors, Construction Responsible Engineer (CRE), and utility suppliers.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven extensive experience with all forms of underground, above-ground, and building services.
  • Prior experience in a similar role with a tier one contractor on large-scale projects, ideally within the rail sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively and oversee operational processes.
  • Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Familiarity with PAS128 standards.
  • Certified as a CAT & Genny operator or equivalent.
  • Possession of CSCS, SMSTS/SSTS, First Aid certifications, and PTS (willingness to obtain if not already held).
