Our esteemed client is seeking a proficient Financial Operations Manager to become a vital part of their dynamic Exeter team. This position involves a diverse array of duties, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, management accounting, and VAT submissions for a broad spectrum of clients. The Financial Operations Manager role is an excellent 'Hands-On' opportunity that empowers the right individual to engage deeply within a local enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the executive team to establish budgets.
  • Projecting revenues, expenses, and cash flow to support strategic business decisions.
  • Tracking and reporting on financial performance.
  • Overseeing and reconciling cash flow and bank transactions.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Gathering data for monthly and annual financial reports while coordinating with external accountants.
  • Filing necessary statutory reports and documentation.
  • Issuing invoices to clients promptly in coordination with various team members, managing invoices through online accounting platforms, and conducting credit control as needed.
  • Reviewing and approving employee expense claims.
  • Ensuring timely approval and processing of payments.
  • Coordinating with external payroll providers regarding employee onboarding, departures, and any modifications.
  • Verifying payroll and executing payments with appropriate deductions.
  • Managing pension submissions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
