About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Community Safety Professional to join our team at Opus People Solutions Ltd. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a key role in integrating environmental health and community safety services, driving innovation, and delivering high-quality services to our citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and develop teams to effectively contribute to the Safe element of our service, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Service Delivery: Manage responsibilities encompassing environmental health and community safety, including food safety, health and safety, industrial pollution, nuisance, envirocrime, private housing enforcement, contaminated land, air quality, water quality, caravan site licensing, and community safety.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Liaise and work with partners and other organizations to maintain and enhance environmental health and community safety, particularly in relation to relevant strategies, policies, and activities, including the Community Safety Partnership.
  • Transformational Leadership: Demonstrate commitment and leadership within the service to achieve transformational change, encourage innovation, and deliver high-quality, efficient, and effective services for our citizens.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage the unit's resources, including budget preparation, service plan development, monitoring, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to control the performance of the unit.
  • Health and Safety: Be responsible for ensuring robust and appropriate corporate health and safety arrangements.
