About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team at Nuffield Health Hospital Tunbridge Wells. As a key member of our Pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding level of service to our oncology, haemato-oncology, and elective surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a High-Quality Clinical Pharmacy Service: Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to oncology, haemato-oncology, and elective surgical patients, in line with current government, NICE, and BOPA guidelines.
  • Medicines Reconciliation and Discharge Planning: Undertake medicines reconciliation, organise discharge medications, and provide drug information and clinical counselling to patients.
  • Pharmaceutical Care Planning: Maintain pharmaceutical care plans for all oncology and haemato-oncology patients.
  • Verification and Screening of SACT Treatments: Verify and screen SACT treatment prescriptions, inpatient prescription charts, discharge, and outpatient prescriptions.
  • Supporting Clinicians: Support and advise clinicians on safe prescribing within oncology, haemato-oncology, and peri-operative medicine.
  • Coordination of SACT Treatments: Daily coordination of the administration and delivery of SACT treatments to patients, maintaining effective communication with the Pharmacy dispensary.
  • Protocol Development: Develop protocols and guidelines for SACT treatment.
  • Education and Training: Educate and train colleagues in support of their development with oncology competencies.
  • Liaison with Other Sites: Liaise with other Nuffield Health oncology sites to share knowledge and expertise.
Requirements
  • UK Registered Pharmacist: Must be a UK Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Post-qualification Experience: At least 4-5 years of post-qualification experience, with experience of supervising and training other staff.
  • Oncology and Haematology Experience: Post-qualification experience within oncology and haemato-oncology, with the ability to screen and verify oncology and haemato-oncology regimes and prescriptions.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication and people skills, with knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures.
