Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Stroke Nurse Practitioner to join the Stroke Team within the Neurology Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be based on internal rotations, including day shifts and night shifts, and will be in support of the Hyper Acute Pathway.

Main Duties
  • Fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high-quality patient care within the Head and Neck Care Group.
  • Be a skilled practitioner in Hyper Acute Stroke care delivery.
  • Provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care for patients within the Stroke pathway.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to develop and maintain a quality service for patients within the speciality.
  • Provide expert clinical nursing, education, and advice in all aspects of the acute stroke.
  • Facilitate an improvement in the quality of health and outcome of care to this client group.

Person Specification
  • Relevant post-registration experience at Band 5 or above.
  • Highly specialist knowledge in Stroke nursing, underpinned by theory and experience.
  • Experience of multi-professional working.
  • Experience of teaching.
