Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team at Building Recruitment Company. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization maintains 100% compliance in all landlord compliance areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Internal and External Stakeholders: You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all compliance areas are targeted and maintained at 100%.
  • Compliance Data Management: You will work with the Business Improvement team to ensure accuracy of compliance data and implement robust processes and procedures to ensure accuracy in all compliance programs.
  • Compliance Work Management: You will ensure that all compliance work is actioned in a timely manner and that all internal processes are adhered to, including post-work checks.
  • Compliance Monitoring: You will monitor order completions in relation to compliance work and take action on outstanding orders as required.
  • Compliance Reporting: You will critically evaluate compliance information and KPIs to assist in the production of assurance reports covering all areas of compliance performance, processes, procedures, and statutory responsibilities.

Management of Staff
  • Team Management: You will be the main point of contact for the compliance officers and provide effective support to them as required.
  • Staff Objectives: You will ensure that the objectives of your team are monitored and achieved.
  • Performance Management: You will undertake one-to-one and 'My Plan' meetings in accordance with the Association's procedures, keep a record of each meeting, and complete any actions from such meetings.
  • Staff Development: You will promote consistently high standards of performance, deal quickly and positively with unacceptable behavior, attitudes, and performance.
  • Staff Absenteeism: You will manage situations of staff absenteeism while maintaining a tenant-focused service at all times and complete organizational paperwork as necessary.
  • Lone Working: You will manage lone working arrangements and monitor lone working compliance where applicable.
  • Staff Productivity: You will set targets and monitor staff productivity, investigate instances of underperformance, and report to the Head of Assets & Compliance.

Person Specification
  • Health and Safety Compliance: You will have experience in health and safety compliance in the social housing sector.
  • Compliance Program Management: You will have experience in setting up, monitoring, and updating health and safety compliance programs in a social housing environment.
  • Customer-Focused Service: You will have experience in delivering an excellent customer-focused service.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: You will have experience in liaising with various types of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Database Systems: You will have experience in using housing association database systems.
  • Staff Management: You will have experience in managing staff.
  • Health and Safety Legislation: You will have knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to the building/construction/surveying/social housing sector.
  • Housing Association Compliance: You will have knowledge of housing association health and safety compliance tasks.
  • Communication Skills: You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to all internal and external stakeholders.
