We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Design Engineer to join our team at Baxi Heating UK Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering detailed heating and hot water system designs for commercial applications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver detailed heating and hot water system designs for commercial applications, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and customer specifications.
- Work closely with customers and specification sales teams to create bespoke system designs from concept to delivery.
- Represent Baxi in a professional manner, handling customer enquiries and developing heating and hot water solutions to meet specific project requirements.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to build detailed project designs, including system P&ID diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and plant layout drawings.
- Produce equipment schedules in-line with project requirements and develop system designs incorporating renewable technologies and hybrid solutions.
- Generate commercial heating and hot water solution designs for new build properties and retrofit solutions within existing building stock, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and meeting customer specifications.
- Provide system designs to specification, completing system design revisions in a timely manner and supporting a follow-up design service, including provision of handover documentation and performance details relative to the system design.
- Manage spreadsheets using Excel for data capture and update as necessary, create and maintain document control systems as required, and stay up-to-date with UK and Ireland legislation and product technologies within the heating and hot water sector.
- Education to HNC level in building services or higher.
- Proven track record of technical competence within the HVAC industry.
- Formal training and experience of Computer Aided Design systems, ideally AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proven project management experience and ability to apply technical knowledge in a commercial context.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Fundamental understanding of the 18th Edition Installation and Wiring Regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels within and external to the organization.
- Highly numerate to analyze and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical and electrical building services within commercial properties.
- Appreciation for renewable technologies, with knowledge of ASHP heating systems and requirements for transitioning from fossil fuel solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of UK legislative requirements for new build properties, including Building Regulations, SBEM, Gas Safe, and F-Gas.
- Natural collaborative working style, nurturing both internal and external key relationships to drive high-quality deliverables.
