Desktop Support Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at HCLTech. As a key member of our IT Support Centre, you will provide day-to-day local and remote desktop support, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and application issues, and facilitate customer resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for desktop hardware and software issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
  • Document steps performed to resolve challenges
  • Facilitate customer resolution and engage supervisors and managers as needed
  • Build, provision, and decommission end-user devices and accessories
  • Follow asset management procedures and update call management documentation
  • Provide audio-visual support and work with third-party vendors to remediate complex AV issues
  • Arrange for warranty support for Windows and Mac devices
  • Perform hands-on support for 3rd line network/server changes
  • Inspect and maintain printers, including toner changes and preliminary fault diagnosis
Requirements:
  • 2 years' experience in Mac/Windows desktop support
  • Broad experience of IT with basic understanding of networks, servers, smart devices, and telecoms
  • Apple Mac and Windows 11 installation, upgrade, support, and Microsoft Office
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or better
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and internal customer service skills
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-changing industry and work environment
