Key Responsibilities

  • Develops responses for complex and strategic requests by combining pre-existing content with customized text.
  • Applies sound judgment and investment knowledge throughout the RFP process, including research, writing, editing, and final production.
  • Advises sales teams based on the substance of the responses provided.
  • Ensures timely and accurate responses to inquiries, and reviews RFPs submitted by others for quality assurance.
  • Engages with a diverse range of resources, including subject matter experts from various business sectors.
  • Utilizes deep industry knowledge to draft responses that accurately address detailed inquiries regarding investment options and service capabilities.
  • Proposes enhancements to improve the overall marketing effectiveness of RFP submissions.
  • Secures necessary approvals and maintains consistency across all outputs.
  • Facilitates the integration of specialized responses into the content database as appropriate.
  • Ensures uniformity across sales channels by identifying standard and non-standard responses, collaborating with relevant SMEs to create new content when necessary.

  • Conducts research on investment strategies, fund performance, and other financial service topics, coordinating with subject matter experts as required.
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and acts as a primary contact for both internal and external partners.
  • Provides insights on investment alternatives and incorporates performance data as needed.
  • Collaborates with Vanguard's sales team to strategically position investment services.
  • Serves as a resource and backup for RFP leadership.
  • Assists in reviewing RFP drafts, managing the RFP queue, and liaising with sales professionals while helping with reporting metrics.
  • Mentors team members by exemplifying best practices in RFP processes.
  • Offers guidance, training, and motivation to develop team capabilities.
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring the effective use of RFP software applications, including content databases and third-party due diligence platforms.
  • Exhibits adaptability by accommodating frequent changes in workload and tight deadlines.
  • Strategically considers the most effective methods for fulfilling requests.
  • Practices strong time and project management skills, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Provides direction to the RFP content manager and determines which responses should be added to the content database when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience, including prior involvement with RFPs, DDQs, or RFIs; experience in sales support or client services is advantageous.
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Vanguard's business operations, including fund and product capabilities is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment principles is preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and adapt to changing workloads and deadlines. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to engage with senior management across the organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing abilities are essential for transforming information into professional content for sales purposes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content management systems.
  • Understanding of prioritization and process improvement methodologies.
