Position Overview

The role involves the evaluation and agreement of high-level electrical specifications, ensuring their testability.

It requires the analysis and conversion of these specifications into a validated design for electrical systems or components.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Identifying applicable design constraints and quality attributes relevant to the system or component.
  2. Documenting requirements and constraints in accordance with project processes for managing interfaces and requirements, such as those captured in IBM DOORS.
  3. Creating and executing electrical designs that align with specified design inputs.
  4. Collaborating with the Verification team to outline verification activities.
  5. Assessing electrical designs for functional performance, which may involve modeling and simulation to confirm that the design meets high-level specifications.
  6. Developing and reviewing electrical tests to provide evidence that the electrical specifications have been fulfilled.
  7. Engaging in capacity planning and contributing to the establishment of long-term strategic objectives for the team in collaboration with management.
  8. Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  9. Formulating, implementing, documenting, and maintaining necessary policies, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training.
  10. Acquiring the knowledge necessary to offer support and guidance to project teams and integrated product teams (IPT).
  11. Representing the electrical engineering domain in meetings, working groups, and integrated project teams as designated.
  12. Collaborating across power station engineering teams to promote standardization and a commoditized approach to system and component development.
  13. Ensuring quality is upheld throughout the project lifecycle by conducting appropriate technical reviews and providing essential electrical engineering inputs for project technical review gates.
  14. Engaging in discussions regarding electrical system design with external entities, including regulatory bodies, potential clients, and suppliers.
